My father had chosen the name "Tom's 78s" for the original website I had set up for him. I believe when he was a child, he and his family took great enjoyment out of listening to music on records, which at the time were 78s. I chose to keep the name for this website. The 78s I am currently listing are a mixed group. Each is a ten inch shellac record, unless noted (such as children's 7 inch records). These are somewhat delicate, heavy, and each is wonderful. As music has moved from 78s to LPs and 45s, to 8 tracks, cassettes, cds, mp3 or WAV files, and now to streaming, the essence of the 78's charm can't be reproduced. Below is a set of photos of Larry Clinton and His Orchestra, on the Cosmo label, and a sound clip of "My Reverie". This is an example of the 78s I have. Further below is the list of 78s currently available. The records will have use wear, scratches, but will be playable. Other than children's recordings, most 78s were produced prior to 1955.
